And it all started with painting. Nail painting. I like it very much. Valentine’s day in a moment, so I painted hearts on my nails. And then there were more and more hearts.

Last block!
I am very happy because this year I have to use a lot of fabrics that are from very old collections. There are several of them in this block. It will be a very nice quilt (I hope).
And really, it all began with…. my favorite HST
For heart block you need :
4 red squares – 4 1/2 x4 1/2
4 background squares – 4 1/2 x 4 1/2
2 background squares – 3 1/2 x 3 1/2
6 red squares – 3 1/2 x 3 1/2
How to do Half Square Triangles ( HST) for this project
You need 4 background squares ( light) end 4 red squares 4 1/2″by 4 1/2″ each of them. Draw the diagonal line corner tu corner on the light squares, cute 2 1/2 x 8″ ruler here:
Put the light square on the red square right side together
Sew on the “side” lines that you’ve drawn (the lines which are 1/4″ away from the center line
If you haven’t 1/4 inch foot, you can use quarter inch seam ruler for mark perfect 1/4 inch distance line
Cut diagonally. I’m using this cute ruler
Put the half square triangle ruler on the HST.
The 3 1/2 line should be slightly above the seam
Trim on the both side the „triangle”
Press it open.
You made perfect 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 HST!
How to do heart block – follow the pictures ( instruction step by step):
First arrange all the elements as you see in the picture
Sew the sections, following the pictures
You made one wonderful heart block. This block measure 12 1/2 by 12 1/2 inch and is perfect to add to Fluffy Winter BOM. Valentine’s block bonus to the Fluffy Winter BOM
