I love celebrate each of seasons. Today I want to show you how to do little Valentines rug mug with pocket for little candy or a small note with a nice inscription. Step by step you’ll find below:

You need:

2 x 5″ x 2 3/4 pink fabric ( heart)

1 x 3″ x 5″ pink fabric ( pocket)

4 x 1 5/8″ x 1 5/8″ – aqua fabric

2 x 2 3/4 x 2 3/4″ – aqua fabric

1 x 3 1/2″ x 5″ – aqua fabric

1 1/4 x 27″ – aqua fabric ( binding)

Draw diagonal line on each of four 1 5/8″ x 1 5/8″ and two 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 squares and put two little square on a cornet on the top of two pink 5″x 2 3/4 squares and and put two large squares at the bottom of the pink rectangles right side together as in the picture. Note the direction of the lines drawn on the squares. Sew on the draw line on the each of squares.

Trim the corner leaving 1/4 inch of distance from the seam and press it open

Put the two little aqua squares on the top of pink pieces ( as in the picture – note the direction of the lines drawn on the squares) and sew on drew lines. Trim the corners and press it open like the last step

Put aqua rectangle ( 3 1/2″ x 5″ ) on the piece of heart right side together and sew (1/4 seam allowance) like in the picture below

Press it open

Quilt this as you like.

Trim to 5″ x 8″

On the pink rectangle 3″ x 5″ press twice on the distance 1/4″ on the longer side

Sew as on the picture

Sew the pocket as on the picture 1/8″ seam from the edge

Sew the binding around ( by machine on the top and by hand on the bottom or how you like

I made two: one for me and one for my husband

Now I see for him looks better
